Stackbrace vs IT Glue
IT Glue is documentation for an MSP's whole estate: networks, devices, passwords, procedures, for every client. Stackbrace is the record of one kind of thing, websites, and it is checked against the world every day instead of waiting to be read. One is a filing system; the other is a watch.
IT Glue’s side as read on itglue.com/pricing, 26 October 2026; Stackbrace’s from its plan settings
| IT Glue | Stackbrace | |
|---|---|---|
| What it documents | Everything an MSP looks after: configurations, networks, passwords, documents, runbooks | Websites: the five layers each rests on, who holds each, and the runbook for each layer |
| Price | $29 to $44 a user a month on a 36-month term, five users minimum, plus a one-time onboarding fee | free for 1 site and 2 people, checked daily; $19 a month for 5 sites and 3 people; priced by sites, not people |
| Passwords | A password vault with sharing, rotation add-ons and audit logs | None, on purpose. The record says where a login is kept, never what it is |
| Checked against the world | Domain and certificate expiry tracking | Every entry a scan can see is checked daily, dated, and flagged when the world and the record disagree; answers people gave are re-asked after six months |
| Monitoring | Not from outside; relies on RMM integrations | Uptime every 5 minutes on paid plans, with the layer that failed; a daily security scan |
| Alerts | Expiry notifications | Down and recovery, expiry with who pays, urgent findings, nameserver and registrar changes; by email, Slack and signed webhook |
| Integrations | PSA, CRM and RMM tools; the point of the product | Slack, a webhook to anything, GitHub for the site's code; no PSA or RMM |
| Who it is for | MSPs with a service desk and a technician per client | Agencies and companies with several sites built by different people, and nobody whose job it is to know |
Choose IT Glue if
- You are an MSP and the websites are a small part of what you look after.
- You need a shared password vault with audit logs and PSA integration.
- Your documentation covers networks, devices and procedures, not only sites.
Choose Stackbrace if
- Websites are the thing you look after, and the documentation you have goes stale.
- You do not want a product that holds every client's passwords.
- You want the record checked by a scan every day, not read once a year.
- You are an agency, and $19 a month is the budget, not $29 a user with five users minimum.
Using both
An MSP can keep websites in IT Glue and still have Stackbrace watch them: Stackbrace’s site report is the handover document, and its webhook can raise a ticket in the PSA when a site goes down. Stackbrace does not replace an estate-wide documentation system, and does not try to.
